Tesco Stronger Starts Grant Update
At the end of last year, we took part in the Tesco Stronger Starts blue token scheme and were successfully awarded £500 to use towards musical instruments.
We have purchased a full class set of 25 glockenspiels so that every class can access tuned instruments as part of their music lessons. As these have only just arrived in school, not all classes have used them yet, but they will soon – especially now that summer has arrived!
We would like to say a big thank you to Tesco for giving us the opportunity to participate in this scheme and also to anyone who voted for us in the Egham or Staines stores.
Please see some photos below of our Puffins class expertly demonstrating the new instruments.
Prince Philip Trust Grant Update
At the beginning of this term, we were fortunate to be awarded a grant from The Prince Philip Trust to support with our library development.
This money has already been put to good use by signing up to an electronic library system, to enable an online catalogue of all books, as well as a simple borrowing system that all children can use. Some of our staff have kindly volunteered to help with the time-consuming task of cataloguing all of the books, both in the library and across the school, with great progress being made. If anyone reading this would like to volunteer some time to help with this project that would be greatly appreciated!
The remaining money will be invested in some new book stock for the library, to make the offering more up-to-date and diverse. Keep your eyes peeled for new books, coming soon.
We would like to thank The Prince Philip Trust for their continued support of our school.
